Thanx, Trish_in_NY, for the suggestion on finding HS appearances. I didn’t know about the site.

But, still, somebody needs to give his publicist a good Tonya Harding across the knees (not so’s it would leave a mark . . . just to get their attention, you know) to let them know that there are people who are interested in such stuff and might even pay actual money to go see appearances, buy books, CDs, etc.

By the way, I’m not blaming the web site guys—they only can post what they know about and they seem to be as in the dark as everyone else.

At least once a week I type Harry’s name into the search box at the top of the TV-Now website to see what shows he will appear on.

There’s an 8 minute clip from the Coast to Coast segment on YouTube as well as the impeccably timed Turd Blossom Special video.

So why is it that we have to come to the “forums” section of harryshearer.com in order to find out where/when Mr Shearer is going to be appearing?

Can someone please whup Harry Shearer’s publicist up side the head and tell him/her to start posting this stuff to the “Events” or “News” section so that his Loyal Fans and Admirers can set their VCRs (yes, some of us are TiVO rejectionists)? I mean just a week ago he was on “Coast to Coast” for two whole hours and we only find this out through a rather oblique reference on “Le Show” the day after.

For a guy whose business is essentially being in the public eye and ear, Mr Shearer seems oddly publicity averse.

By the way, the “News” section is absurdly out of date. There’s a new video of “Turd Blossom Special” up at MyDamnChannel

C’mon folks, let’s get with the program.

Does anyone know when this Spinal Tap clip was made and what is the name of this show hosted by Wolfman Jack? Got to love the Busby Berkeley tribute at the end. Obviously it predates “This is Spinal Tap” where they wore more realistic wigs.

Harry Shearer has been making a really good effort to remember to say “endquote”, but it’s not really necessary to do that. See Non-Errors (Those usages people keep telling you are wrong but which are actually standard in English.)

I believe this is a Buddhist idea describing the here-and-now.
Very deep,... but loses it’s meaning when archived on The Wayback Machine.
Also, not to be confused with the phrase “Is it here ?”...which describes an embarrassing moment in a young man’s rite-of-passage.

Ben Grauer says “Here it is!” according to a Wikipedia contribution from Danserafini (2 June 2008). The voice does sound like a 1950s NBC kinescope, but I’m a little wary of Danserafini because of a prank associated with his name.

I won’t try to second guess Harry but I could imagine him saying something about a proposed levee levy to raise money for better embankments along the Mississippi. Wouldn’t it be ironic if such a proposed tax was introduced in Congress by an elected official named Levi? However, this is a serious subject and maybe it’s just not the right time or place for levity.

Please add a plain text fallback! This completely unnecessary reliance on Flash is costing Harry audience. I would love to be able to listen to Le Show on my web-enabled cellphone, but mobile devices can’t support Flash.

Your reliance on Real Audio .ram files instead of the more standard MP3 file/streaming format is also costing Harry listeners. Portable audio players (mp3 players) do not support Real Audio .ram files.

The website developers are doing a disservice to Harry and his audience by setting up these completely unnecessary roadblocks to listening to Le Show.

Again, please add a plain text fallback for non-flash users, and use the universal mp3 audio standard. This will allow far more people to listen to Le Show. Thank you.

I don’t know JAVA from FLASH but I do know that some websites require you to download these things (usually at no charge) in order to get the content. Otherwise you just get a bunch of error messages. Who wants that? Convergence hasn’t quite happened yet.
